Weld Preparation with Laser Cleaning

Laser cleaning of metals eliminates oxide, rust, oils, and additional contaminants, making the welding process more effective by assuring better joining of metal components.

In the process, the laser units will clean without interacting with the substrate integrity – mostly reflecting from the bare metal and typically with minimal temperature increase of the substrate which is far less than welding processes.

After the welding process, the laser unit can be used to remove weld silicates and other contaminants that prevent the coating process from having the long-term, desired affect for corrosion resistance. By removing the contaminates, weld joints will last long from the protection to the elements warfighting equipment is exposed to.
